Ginger, lemon  and honey tea

 Ginger, lemon and honey tea has been used to handle colds  and  sinus infections. All  of these ingredients contain powerful anti-inflammatory  properties.  Lemon  juice provides powerful digestive enzymes while ginger stimulates digestion. Ginger naturally warms the body supporting circulation and lowering  high   blood  pressure. Ginger benefits the human throat by killing viruses and bringing  a soothing  relief.

Ginger is used by making ginger tea and consumed daily. Ginger is usually used with lemon and honey. You should also mix lemon and honey into the drink. Lemon helps in reducing the mucous or the phlegm and  honey  is a great ingredient to fight against cold and flu

 You will need:

  •  Half a lemon
  • A thumb size piece of peeled  ginger shaved with a vegetable  peeler
  •  A squeeze of honey

Directions:

  •  Boil  a kettle of water
  • Put a little of the boiling water in the. teapot to warm it  through then pour away
  •  Add  the ingredients to the teapot and top up with boiling water
  • Stir very well , squeeze in  the lemon
  • pour into a mug and enjoy

 Thyme Tea

  Thyme  is great  for respiratory  health. Clinical studies  show its use in soothing coughs and relieving chest congestion.

  Thyme  smells great and is rich in vitamin C, A and B. 1 teaspoon serving offers  1,28 milligrams of vitamin C. Thyme is also  a good source of magnesium , Zinc, Potassium, Calcium and Iron.

How to make: 

You can make thyme tea using fresh or dried herbs.

  • Add springs of thyme to a cup of boiling water and let steep to 5 to 8 minutes
  •  If any leaves fall off the springs and into your water you can strain them before  drinking.
  •  For powder thyme add 1 teaspoon of powder to a cup of boiling water and stir to combine.
