Healing Power of Tea

Tea  is one of oldest beverages in the world discovered in the 2700 BC FAO  org. Legend tells that the emperor of China Shennon was under the tree and waiting for the morning cup of hot water, the servants used to give him  every morning. When water was poured into the cup, the wind brought a chamomile flower into the cup. Water changed the color and taste became much better.

For many  centuries, only the Chinese  knew of  the wonders of tea. Habit of drinking tea spread Asia in and then throughout the World.

  Monks first introduced tea to Japan in the sixth century. During the fifteenth century, tea masters in Japan developed rituals and symbolism around serving tea that resulted in the Japanese tea ceremony  which is still practiced today with such grace

 The first European port city to experience tea was Amsterdam. The British developed such a mania of British life for  everyone from lords and ladies to the middle class men and women.

   Tea is the most widely consumed  beverage  in the world next to water.  Nowadays tea is mostly  popular in Turkey,  Ireland, the United Kingdom and Iran. Each day over 159 mln Americans drink tea.

Cinnamon tea may increase your body’s  ability to fight  off free radicals, keeping you healthy  and protecting  you from disease.  Studies report that cinnamon may reduce blood pressure as well as triglyceride and bad cholesterol, helps reduce blood sugar increasing insulin’s effectiveness, fights off bacteria and fungi, has anticancer properties and may help reduce acne.

You will need:

  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Water

Directions:

  • Combine water and cinnamon sticks. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat let the tea steep until desired flavor is reached.
  • You may add a bit of honey or lemon juice for extra flavor. Enjoy!
